It’s Valentine’s Day!
It’s the season of love! There is no better way I would like to celebrate the day of love than creating the things I love and sharing my passion with you! I love making wreath rails, they show off a different side of wreath making that I am so glad to be apart if and help others find their passion as well!
Materials Needed for Valentine’s Day Truck:
- 10” Deco Mesh
- Spool Board (optional)
- Pipe Cleaners
- Valentine’s XOXO Truck Attachment
- 2- 2.5” Ribbon
- 1.5″ Ribbon
- 1 string of Tubing
- Bow Maker
- Scissors
- Ribbon Tail Board
- Rotary Cutter
Instructions
- Take 5 pipe cleaners and put them in a spread out line along your wreath rail.
- Take your rotary cutter and cut 5 pieces of 10” Deco Mesh and make one ruffle for every twist tie. Roll up the edges a little bit and then scrunch it up the center. Add the center part of the ruffle to the ties.
- Cut 5- 14” ribbon tails of a 2.5″ ribbon. Fold the tails in half and pinch the center together. Attach the center pinch to a twist tie on the wreath frame. Repeat with the remaining ribbon tails and twist ties. Spread out your center tails in Xs and then Ks at both ends.
- Next cut 5- 14” ribbon tails of another 2.5″ ribbon. Fold the tails in half and pinch the center together. Attach the center pinch to a twist tie on the wreath frame. Spread out your center tails in Xs and then Ks at both ends.
- Then add in your tubing. Take 1 string of tubing and pinch it together like a bow and twist them in the middle of your pipe cleaners.
- With your EZ Bow Maker and your ribbons we are going to make a bow! Start with a 2.5” ribbon, measure a 10” tail, twist the ribbon and then add it to the bow-maker. Then make a 6” loop, twist, add it to the bow-maker. Make another loop on the other side then trim after a 10” tail.
- Use another 2.5” ribbon to repeat the same process making four loops this time and loops a little smaller this time.
- Then use a 1.5” ribbon to make 4 loops using the same process and then again with another 1.5” ribbon.
- For the final layer of the bow use another 1.5” ribbon to make two smaller loops.
- Take two pipe cleaners and twist the ends together to make one long pipe cleaner. Remove your bow from the bow maker and use the long pipe cleaner to secure the center of the bow twisting it off at the back.
- Use the pipe cleaners on the bow to push through the mesh and attach the bow to the wreath rail.

How to Hang a Wreath Rail
I am sure you are wondering how you should hang your beautiful new wreath rail that you have just made?
This is one of my favorite tutorials for a simple and quick option to do to a wreath rail without a hole. There might be many ways out there to do this but I found that this is fool proof! This works for wreath rails in all shapes and sizes.
Wreath vs. Wreath Rail
The difference between a wreath and a wreath rail might not be so obvious, and you might be wondering what the difference is. It is important to know what each one does before you start making your purchase decision.
In some ways there isn’t much difference between a wreath rail and a wreath. They both look amazing with deco mesh and ribbon tails. They both can be customized for any season or style. And they both make fabulous door decor. But, there are differences between the two that make them each wonderfully unique. Check out this blog post for more information on wreaths vs. wreath rails and how they differ!
